ALSTOM has won an order from the Swedish State Electricity Board (Vattenfall) for the refurbishment of two generators at the Messaure Hydro Power Station, located in the Lule river, in north of Sweden.
The order, valued approximately at 10 million euros, covers the supply of new rotor poles and the installation of two complete new stators with their auxiliaries.
The refurbishment of the generators, each of 10.5 metres in diameter, will increase the existing output of 140 MVA to 160 MVA each. The dismantling of the old equipment will begin on April 2005. The generators are scheduled for commissioning in October 2005 for the first unit and in October 2006 for the second.
