ALSTOM has been awarded a Long-Term Service Agreement (LTSA) by Synergen for its GT26-powered Dublin Bay power plant in Ringsend, Ireland.

The LTSA covers the supply of materials, outage labour, supervision and management for all scheduled gas turbine and generator inspections until 2013. In addition, ALSTOM will provide plant technical support and 24/7 remote monitoring and diagnostics of the gas turbine.

“The LTSA is a key component in ensuring the success of the Dublin Bay power plant project, by ensuring optimum plant performance through ongoing monitoring and support from ALSTOM and providing certainty in relation to the cost of scheduled inspections for the next nine years” says Pat O’Doherty, Synergen’s General Manager.

Synergen is an Independent Power Producer (IPP), which is jointly owned by ESB (Electricity Supply Board, the Irish state-owned electricity utility) and Statoil.

The Dublin Bay power plant is a modern, highly efficient, 400 MW single-shaft, gas-powered generation station with the latest GT26 turbine and compressor design package. The power plant is located at Ringsend, beside the River Liffey, in Dublin. Plant output is equal to about 9% of peak demand in Ireland. Gas to power the station is supplied by Statoil. The station was fully commissioned in May 2002 and is now operating at full capacity and selling electricity successfully into the market.
