“This is probably the safest train on earth", said
Lennart Jangälv, MD at SL in his inauguration speech, also
praising the good teamwork between ALSTOM and SL.
“The
CORADIA LIREX is a state-of-the art train,
where ALSTOM has used proven technology together with new
features to meet the demands of today and tomorrow.
The X60 sets a new standard for commuter
trains”, concluded Andreas Knitter, chairman of
ALSTOM Transport Sweden and president of ALSTOM Transport
Germany.
According to schedule, the first four vehicles out of 55 have
been delivered and will be put into regular service on August
22nd.
Thanks to the roof-mounted equipment, the new trains all
feature low floor throughout, allowing easier access for
passengers. Increased reliability, low energy consumption and
improved working conditions were other important demands from
SL.
