Alstom and Bombardier have been in negotiations to decide
how they might cooperate on this project.  Alstom has
decided to withdraw its request from the current legal
procedure after an agreement with Bombardier on the terms of
this cooperation has been reached.  The agreement covers
part of the engineering work, the assembly of a substantial
number of the cars and the supply of part of the bogies.
Alstoms share is estimated to be around a third of the
global contract. It should be performed with a reasonable
margin.

Alstom preferred to find a business solution rather than
continuing the current legal process to avoid delaying the
renewal of the Transilien trains, eagerly awaited by the
residents of Ile de France.  Alstom strongly wished to
further strengthen its working relationship with the SNCF,
Alstom Transports most important customer, to the
benefit of both parties.  In addition, Alstom wanted to
increase workload in its French plants of Le Creusot and
Reichshoffen.
