This project was awarded to the ALSTOM-led FRAMECA
consortium in September 2005 by the public operator C.A. Metro
Los Teques, a turnkey contract worth 204 million Euros.
ALSTOM’s share is 90 million euros, for supplying a total
of 6 trainsets, the traction electrification and part of the
signalling equipment. ALSTOM also ensured the piloting and
coordination of the project. A second track will be
commissioned at the beginning of 2008.

The line, which is located in the State of Miranda runs 9,8 km
from Las Adjuntas at the south end of Line 2 to El Tambor on
the outskirts of Los Teques, will both relieve congested roads
and complement the existing metro network.

For the last 23 years, ALSTOM Transport delivered 600 cars for
metro lines 1,2,3 and 4, and provided rolling stock midlife
overhaul to 400 metro cars, as well as power supply equipment
for line 1 for Venezuelan metro.
