Newspaper, TV and radio reporters accompanied by
photographers and film crews were all there, when ALSTOM's
Michael Anderson presented a scale model of the real Pendolino
to the CEO of Slovak Railways and the Czech Ambassador to
Slovakia, to mark this occasion. Daily passenger service on the
Pendolinos between Prague and Bratislava will commence on 10
December, cutting travel time down 22 minutes to a new schedule
of 3 hours and 47 minutes along the 400 km "Slovenska Strela"
or "Bullet of Slovakia" line.

"These Pendolinos will enable Czech Railways to provide the
fast international service intended"
said Michael Anderson
at the press conference. Starting in December 2006 Pendolinos
will ensure a second faster international service from Prague
to Vienna. Service to Germany is planned thereafter.

The current Czech Pendolino fleet consists of 7 x 7-car trains
including 2 first class cars and a bar car. They entered
passenger service in the Czech Republic in December 2005.
