ALSTOM, which originally supplied these trains in 1982, will
also secure their maintenance over 10 years as part of this new
contract. ALSTOM will replace the existing propulsion systems
with its proven, compact and lightweight computer-based
propulsion technology. This will reduce the fleets
energy consumption and future maintenance costs, while
improving overall reliability.

The power control systems will be provided by ALSTOMs
site in Ridderkerk, Netherlands, while the manufacturing and
installation of the propulsion system will be primarily done at
Mexico City Metros Ticoman facility north of Mexico
City. Deliveries are scheduled from August 2007 through
February 2008.
