Alstom took part in this 4th exhibition as part of the
future tender invitation for a tramway in Casablanca, Morocco's
economic capital, and the very high-speed Tangier-Kenitra rail
link, for which Alstom is supplying the rolling stock.

In the spirit of innovation and sustainable mobility, the stand
displayed models of both the Bordeaux tramway (Casablanca's
twin city since 1998) and the TGV TM Duplex (double-decker)
power car, two symbols of environmentally minded technology at
the cutting edge.

Alstom in Morocco: a lasting partnership
Alstom Transport is currently providing a number of innovative
and eco-friendly solutions to Morocco, including the trainsets
for the Rabat tramway that will be delivered to the Bouregreg
Valley Development Agency; the future very high-speed train;
the contracts for the Prima locomotives; and the modernization
of the railway signalling system for the National Railway
Office (ONCF). Present in the country for over 40 years, Alstom
is also one of the leading suppliers to the Moroccan National
Electricity Office (ONE) and built the country's first
thermal-solar combined cycle power plant. More than half of the
electricity consumed in Morocco is produced with equipment
supplied by Alstom.
