During the interview, Mr Debroise was alternately queried on
the sustainable mobility concept ("the continuity of
sustainable development as applied to transport"), rail
transport's carbon footprint and the reduction of energy
consumption. He also talked about eco-design, efforts to
recycle close to 100% of waste, reduction of visual and noise
pollution, and the train's future challenges in light of air
travel. Mr Debroise discussed the social aspects as well,
touching on the Alstom Foundation which supports employee
environmental projects, accessibility (the "low-floor tramway
was introduced in Grenoble in 1987"), gender equality in the
company, and Alstom's code of ethics.
