Alstom presents its transport solutions at Metro Technology Week in São Paulo

 Company will present transport alternatives, such as tramways, CTBC and regional trains

Between September 13 and 16, Alstom will participate in the 17th Metro Technology Week, which will be held at the Convention Center of Frei Caneca Mall, in São Paulo. During the exhibition, the company will present solutions for public rail transport, such as Tramways, regional trains and signaling and control systems (CBTC). Alstom is one of the leaders in the passengers rail transport market, in the provision of signaling and control solutions for the rail transport of freight, in addition to being present in all metro systems in the country. 

The company will show its tramways Citadis, which are already a reference, as they have been implemented in 34 cities around the world. This model is a highlight of a mobility solution for cities, including those that will host the 2014 World Cup. It has a capacity for approximately 400 passengers per trip, the equivalent to 75 cars or over four buses, operating silently and using electric energy, which is renewable. Its low floor ensures accessibility, and its design becomes an icon in the city, attracting business and tourism. The Tramway Citadis can also be equipped with APS (ground supply) technology, in which the train is fed by a third rail, without the need of catenaries, which is perfect to preserve the architecture integrity of cities crossed by the network.

 Alstom stands out in technologies for metro systems and has developed one in four operations of the type in the world. Many of them have been produced with Brazilian engineering and manufacturing, as the companys Transport area relies on about 1.200 employees in the units located in São Paulo.

In addition to participating as an exhibitor, Alstom is part of the events conference agenda, with two participations. On the 14th, Wednesday, from 10 a.m. to 10.45 a.m., Fernando Sunyer will talk about Medium-capacity systems with catenary-free supply. In the next day, at the same time, Fernando Cirillo presents the theme CBTC as the ideal solution for large-capacity systems.

 About the FairOrganized by AEAMESP (Association of Metro Engineers and Architects), the 17th Metro Technology Week will have as its main theme The Future is on rails! Paths to development. The meeting is aimed at gathering technicians, entities, companies and local, state and federal public agencies to discuss new technologies for the rail transport sector in Brazil and over the world, as well as debating investment strategies for both passenger and freight transport.

This edition of the Technology Week will have a larger number of technical papers, developed by professionals and companies, addressing new technologies in the civil engineering and system areas; as well as in the new modes of transportation which are currently being discussed and implemented in the country: Monorail, VLTs and TGVs, providing a rich and important exchange of knowledge.

 Simultaneously to the 17th Metro Technology Week, the 2011 METROFERR will be held, which is the largest exhibition of products and services for companies in the sector, showcasing the state of the art in the area of rail public transport.
