On April 20th CEO of Alstom Patrick Kron visited the official ceremony of the 10th anniversary of Transmashholding (TMH). About 300 guests gathered for the occasion, including Secretary of State for Transport of France Thierry Mariani and CEO of RZD Vladimir Yakunin.
In his speech Patrick Kron mentioned a vast contribution of TMH into the development of transport engineering and thanked the TMH team for a fruitful cooperation with Alstom.
During 5 years of partnership Alstom and TMH established an engineering JV to develop the new rolling stock. Totally new passenger locomotive EP20 is already undergoing tests, and freight locomotive 2ES5 is to follow shortly. The partners are ready to offer the Russian cities an alternative tramway system which will change peoples view of the ground transport. Besides, Alstom and TMH are now working on the project of establishing production of locomotives in Kazakhstan, which is planned to start in 2012.
Alstom owns 25% plus one share of TMH.
