During the UIC High-Speed Rail conference held recently in Philadelphia, we caught up with Francois Lacote, father of Frances first high-speed train and Alstom Transport Technical Advisor for a chat about the current state of high-speed rail technology.
Alstom made a splash at the 8th Annual World Congress on High-Speed Rail with a variety of presentations and demonstrations during the three-day event in Philadelphia, PA. Top Alstom executives were on hand to answer questions, engage in discussions and meet with key leaders in the industry.
We had the opportunity to speak with Mr. Lacôte, who gave us a high-level overview of Alstoms cutting edge High-Speed technology. His message: not all high-speed trains are created equally. Some are designed to operate better on new dedicated lines while others can function well in existing lines defined by hills and curves. Each train is designed and developed to cope with the needs and challenges of customers around the world.
