Alstom Hosts Annual U.S. Clean Power Workshop

Surrounded by the dynamic energy of historic Newport, Rhode Island, Alstom recently hosted key players in the North American power industry for a three day workshop featuring discussions on the future of electricity markets and technologies. The workshop examined a range of possible disruptive futures, building from scenario analysis developed by Alstoms Corporate Strategic planning experts. Within each scenario, the workshop participants explored the "What If" questions, such as...What if certain developments occur? How would we, as an industry, as a company, as a manager react? How can we prepare?

 "The Alstom Clean Power Forum in Newport is a unique opportunity to discuss the most challenging issues facing our industry in a very open, frank and informal venue. As a leading technology and service supplier, we take feedback from this forum directly into our strategic decisions", says Joe Vasile, VP Alstom Global Power Sales, North America.  

Against the backdrop of multiple energy market scenarios, Alstom experts shared their business and investment strategies designed to support the needs of North America, which focus on providing a strong technology portfolio, backed by a local and responsive commercial and service network. 

In turn, the diverse group of participants offered their views on critical drivers and necessary technology development that will have the greatest impact on their businesses.  Following the technology workshop, the group gathered for dinner at one of Newports summer cottages, the Marble House. The next day, an exciting team building gave the group the opportunity to continue discussion in an informal and competitive program.
