Alstoms new-generation Haliade 150 - 6MW offshore wind turbine has successfully obtained the IEC1 power performance measurement (power curve2) after 3 months of performance measurements at Le Carnet site, in France. This key milestone in the type testing certification process follows on from the completion of the 6MW commissioning and exhaustive testing activity.

The onshore tests performed on the first Haliade 150 - 6MW since March 2012 have provided extensive data collection on the power curve which confirmed the technical specifications and correlate extremely well with the design models of the Haliade 150 -6MW wind turbine.

The next phase of activity on the first onshore machine will focus on specific tasks and extensive tests related to wind turbine diagnostics, reliability and maintenance of main components such as the generator, pitch, converter and the yaw system.

After the certification, Le Carnet site will be dedicated to complementary performance upgrade tests, and several training actions.

We are proud to reach this important milestone in the certification plan of our machine in such a short time with the level of performance we had expected, stated Alstom Wind Offshore VP Frederic Hendrick.

During this last year, the activity in Le Carnet has been massive in terms of measurements and test work. These have been focused on the validation of the characteristics and the performance of the Haliade 150 wind turbine according to Alstoms internal protocols and the main international standards, specified Alstom Wind Innovation VP Jordi Puigcorbé.
