Alstom and RZDstroy to cooperate in the field of transport infrastructure in Russia

Alstom and RZDstroy signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the development of railway transportation in Russia and beyond, including the development of infrastructure. The MoU was signed during the International Forum named "Construction. Innovation and Partnership. An Open Dialogue" that took place in Sochi, in Russia from 16 to 17 October 2014.

The MoU covers the design of modern infrastructure systems as well as infrastructure and turnkey projects management.

Thibault Desteract, Senior Vice President of Alstom Transport CIS, declared: "With RZDStroy's expertise in railway infrastructure construction and Alstom's experience in infrastructure for urban and mainline rail projects, we will be able to provide solutions for Russia and 1520 rail gauge countries that are reliable and environmental friendly."

In terms of infrastructure, Alstom can offer catenary, power supply, and track works. Recent projects led by Alstom: include the very high speed line for the Channel Tunnel Rail Link (CTRL) 2 between the UK and France which is already in commercial service, as well as the project for a very high speed line linking Nîmes and Montpellier in France and the turnkey metro project in Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, currently under construction.
