Next month, we will inaugurate the first production line dedicated to tramway in Latin America. The new unit, located in Taubaté, was built in eight months and a half and is the direct result of the work of a team that acted and will continue to act with a lot of synergy and team spirit.

In the next few weeks, you will get to know some of the characters of this story that is just beginning. Today, we introduce you to Humberto Calil, Engineer responsible for the Electrical Installations and Utilities of the tramway plant.

I joined Alstom in 2008, when I entered the trainee program in the Renewable sector. During this period, I had the opportunity to work at Alstoms units in Canada and France. Since May last year Ive been working as the engineer responsible for the electrical installations and utilities of Alstoms new tramway plant, which includes validation, planning and coordination of the project activities and installation.

When I received this invitation I was a little apprehensive about the challenge and the responsibility but, at the same time, very motivated about the chance to be a part of a new and important project to improve urban mobility in Brazil.

In the past eight months, my greatest challenge was to ensure the delivery on time, the fulfillment of the scope and the safe execution of the electrical installation activities. Seeing the effort of each member of the team dedicated to a common goal, turning challenges into accomplishments was, without a doubt, my greatest learning.

My expectation now is that the tramway of Rio de Janeiro is a display that stimulates other cities to choose this system.
