Alstom announces three promotions to complete UK & Ireland Senior Management Team
Alstom U.K. & Ireland Managing Director, Nick Crossfield, has announced three promotions to complete his Senior Management Team. The new appointments refocus the top team around important opportunities in the UK & Ireland markets and complement the recent merger of Alstoms Signalling and Infrastructure businesses in the UK, to better address those two important areas.
Susan Evans becomes the most senior female director at Alstom UK & Ireland. With her promotion to Managing Director, Urban & Services, Susan will take her experience from the Nottingham Tram Extension and apply it across Alstoms Transport for London, Dublin and other urban businesses. Susan will also have a special responsibility for championing diversity and Women in Rail within Alstom UK & Ireland.
Piers Wood has been promoted to the role of Managing Director, Regional and Intercity. He takes on responsibility for maintaining the fleet of iconic Alstom-built Pendolinos used by Virgin Trains on the West Coast Mainline, as well as other major maintenance contracts. With recent innovations like Alstoms TrainScanner in Manchester being right at the cutting edge of high-tech predictive maintenance, the business is a world leader in this regard. Piers also has responsibility for bidding for new rolling stock orders in the UK, and along with conventional trains, will be investigating the introduction of Alstoms new hydrogen train technologies to the UK.
Jason Baldock is promoted to Director of High Speed Rail. HS2 is one of the most exciting rail projects in the world. Alstom originated much of the Very High Speed technology in use around the world today, from the original TGVs in France, to the Eurostar, the UKs first Very High Speed train, and new and innovative high speed infrastructure technologies. As this important project moves closer to reality, Jason will be leading Alstoms bidding team.
