Alstom will present Aptis, its new 100% electric mobility experience developed with NTL, at Busworld from 20 to 25 October 2017 in Kortrijk, Belgium. The vehicle will be available for the public to discover in the exhibiting area. On the Alstom booth, visitors will have the opportunity to access a 3D configurator.
Aptis is a new experience of mobility. Its unique and innovative design is inspired by the tram, incorporating full low-floor accessibility and 360° views. With batteries and power systems located on the roof and the wheels situated at both ends with no overhangs, Aptis offers passengers a 20 m2 low-floor. The double doors, also derived from tram design, allow for easy on-off passenger flows as well as smooth access for wheelchairs and strollers. With panoramic windows at both ends, Aptis offers 20% more window surface than traditional buses as well as low noise levels. Moreover, with four steerable wheels, versus only two in buses, Aptis occupies 25% less surface area in curves. Aptis has a flexible interior layout, offering configurations to suit operators needs: a lounge at the back, two or three double doors and a customised interior design which can easily evolve with the lifecycle. Aptis is currently being tested on two lines of the Ile de France network and there will soon be experimentations in other cities.
On the booth, visitors will also have the opportunity to discover SRS, Alstoms ground-based static charging system available for electric buses. Based on 15 years of service-proven catenary-free solutions for trams, SRS is a compact solution offering easy urban insertion and adaptability to any type of bus.
Additionally, the company will also present its autonomous system for the first and last mile in cooperation with Easymile [1]. The EZ10, an autonomous shuttle developed by Easymile, will be present on Alstom booth.
