Scholarships in memory of "Momo" Morello to help deserving students in Savigliano

A project promoted by the association "Mestieri in corso", with the partnership of Oasi Giovani and Alstom Ferroviaria

16 February 2022 – Alstom, global leader in green and smart mobility, is supporting deserving students alongside the “Momo Project”, highlighting their special features, regardless of economic or family difficulties. The "Momo Project" has been dedicating a series of scholarships to Lorenzo Morello, town councillor for 20 years and assessor for 15 years of the Savigliano Municipality, who sadly passed away in 2019.

The association 'Mestieri in corso', chaired by Martino Grindatto, has been setting up the 'life support grants' for two years now. This year, the group started a partnership with the non-profit organisation Oasi Giovani and with Alstom Ferroviaria, a leading company in the railway sector which, sensitive to the topic of training and education, has made a contribution of 1,500 euros.

The scholarships in memory of Lorenzo Morello are awarded according to the students' talent. They are aimed at high school or university students living in Savigliano. Scholarships are not awarded directly in cash but in terms of educational experiences to help implement projects that support the students' education. The accompaniment process lasts for three years. To date, 9 scholarships have been awarded, 4 in the school year 2020/21 and 5 in the school year 2021/22.

“We are proud to support the association "Mestieri in corso" in this valuable project in the Savigliano area. The "Momo project" represents a concrete opportunity for young students in the Savigliano area, which aims, thanks to the awarding of these scholarships, to enhance their talent. Thanks to our contribution, 3 laptops were purchased to facilitate students' training and distance learning.”
