The first metro train for future line 18 of the Paris region has just been delivered! 🇫🇷 A new milestone for the @grand_paris_express project: the trainset arrived at the Palaiseau maintenance and storage site, where it will continue its tests on the @idfmobilites network until its commercial launch in the 4th quarter of 2026. The automatic metro for the future line 18 is designed and manufactured at 6 Alstom in France sites. The trains, financed by Île-de-France Mobilités, are also made up of 20% recycled materials. ♻️ With a length of 47m, they will be able to carry up to 350 passengers, offering accessibility, connectivity and comfort. With our extensive locomotive know-how, Alstom is contributing to decarbonising cross-border operations in Europe! 🚂 We were delighted to host this event with our customer, Northrail GmbH, for key European operators and representatives of the railway press! In Valenciennes, we showcased our latest Traxx Universal multisystem locomotive proudly built in Kassel and its unique last mile functionality allowing to transition dynamically into non-electrified tracks with a similar tractive effort. While in Crespin, we presented our leading full maintenance services capabilities for the locomotives to be operated from France to Poland, seamlessly.

Today, we announce an unprecedented investment plan of more than 150 million euro to increase production capacity at our sites in France to meet the growing demand of the French and international rail market, in particular for very high-speed trains. As part of this plan, ➡️a new assembly line for very high-speed trains will be created at Alstom’s Valenciennes Petite-Forêt site, at a cost of more than €30 million ➡️the carbody shell and assembly lines at Alstom’s La Rochelle site will be doubled ➡️1,000 people will be hired in France in 2025 This unprecedented programme for Alstom will enable us to meet our current commitments and strengthen our industrial base with innovative technologies stemming from Industry 4.0 to better serve our customers. #HighSpeed #Investment

Today, we celebrate the 18th anniversary of Alstom's high-speed train setting the world's very-high speed record, together with @groupeSNCF. Reaching an impressive 574.8 km/h on April 3, 2007, this is a record that still stands to this very day! This achievement not only showcases the extraordinary engineering behind our trains, but also highlights our dedication to redefining the future of transportation. The rail family around the world witnessed the historic moment, and many came to see the record-breaking trainset riding on the Seine before being taken for display by the Eiffel Tower in the following weeks.
