The Alstom Italy Impact report outlines how Alstom contributes to the long-term development of its employees and society as a whole.

Alstom has published its first Impact Report for Italy, a study carried out in partnership with Ernst&Young. This report presents the contributions and commitments made by Alstom as part of its activities in favour of low-carbon mobility, ensuring that it continues to meet the expectations of its stakeholders. It also reports on the company's impact on society and the environment in Italy.

  • "As the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Made in Italy, I would like to express my appreciation for initiatives like this one, which highlight the importance of synergies between major industrial players such as Alstom Italy — a global leader in smart and sustainable mobility — and public institutions, crucial for promoting the economic and social development of our Country.

The results that will be presented today not only testify to the positive impact that Alstom, with a 160-year tradition in train production, has had in generating employment and promoting technological innovation, but also underscore the crucial role of institutions in creating and sustaining a favorable context for industrial development and international competitiveness.

Railway infrastructure represents one of the cornerstones of the ecological transition and is a strategic engine to accelerate the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions and promote sustainable mobility models. To this end, the allocation of approximately 24 billion euros for sustainable mobility infrastructure within the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) demonstrates the government's commitment to this sector as part of the broader green transformation of the Country.

I wish all participants a productive engagement in the discussions, and I will be closely following the developments that emerge from this important meeting."

  • "The Alstom experience is a true system action that supports the development of the industrial fabric. Federmeccanica has long been committed to promoting the structural growth of businesses. In our sector, the vast majority of companies have fewer than fifty employees.

The major challenges ahead can only be successfully addressed if we are capable of introducing functional business models to manage the transition to the new era. Everyone must play their part in achieving an appropriate level of scalability for our production system.

It is essential to foster awareness and a growth-oriented business culture, both through peer-to-peer mechanisms and by leveraging the role of large companies that can positively influence the supply chain. At the same time, the implementation of targeted industrial policies is crucial to stimulate the growth process, encouraging all types of synergies and supporting innovation.

We are the second largest manufacturing sector in Europe, but primarily composed of small businesses. We need to decide what to do as major players. This is a decision we have already made: we want to and we must."
