ALSTOM sells its subsidiary ALSTOM Vannes to TYCO
International Ltd

ALSTOM has sold its subsidiary ALSTOM Vannes, specialised in
the design and manufacture of industrial valves, to TYCO Flow
Control Holding SA, a subsidiary of TYCO International Ltd.
This disposal is part of ALSTOM's previously announced strategy
to progressively refocus its Industry sector.

ALSTOM Vannes is situated in northern France, employs 325
people and has total sales of 45 million euros.

TYCO International Ltd employs 120,000 people worldwide with
sales of 20 billion euros. ALSTOM Vannes will join its Fluids
Control Division, which employs 22,000 people in the world, of
which 5,000 are in Europe, and has total sales of 3.8 billion
euros.

The leading position of TYCO International Ltd in the
worldwide industrial valves market and the complementary nature
of its activities with those of ALSTOM Vannes will benefit both
companies. ALSTOM Vannes capabilities in R&D,
purchasing and production will be reinforced and the access to
TYCO International Ltds worldwide sales organisation
will strengthen its development.
