The Paris Transport Authority (RATP) has just notified
ALSTOM of its decision to order 13 CITADISTM trams, destined
for existing or projected tramway lines in Ile-de-France (Paris
and its suburbs).

This firm order is part of a programme involving a total of
60 trams and worth a total of 97.5 million euros. It comes as
part of a plan to reinforce passenger service on the tramway
lines T1 (Saint Denis-Bobigny) and T2 (La Défense-Issy Val
de Seine). Delivery of the new vehicles will begin in March
2002.

For this order, ALSTOM will supply the RATP with its new
CITADISTM 300 tram. The tramset, which has a full low floor,
measures 31m long, 2.40 m wide and has a total capacity of 216
passengers (of which 52 seated). The air conditioned vehicles
are designed to be able to operate as a multi-unit, meaning
that several trams can be connected and have a single
driver.

This order represents a new success for ALSTOM's family of
CITADISTM trams. To date, approximately 300 tramsets have been
ordered by cities including Montpellier, Orléans, Lyons,
Valenciennes and Bordeaux in France, and by Dublin (Ireland)
and Rotterdam (Netherlands).
