The congress participants technical visit started with
a ride on the Pearl Line (Line 3 of the Shanghai Metro) on board
an ALSTOM train, constructed by Puzhen, an ALSTOM joint venture
at Nanjing, and finished with a tour of the SATCO (Shanghai
ALSTOM Transport Co. Ltd.) factory, where the participants saw
the rolling stock assembly line of the XinMin Line. ALSTOM
informed the participants that China as well as other countries
can count on its technology and knowledge.
During the Public Transport Exhibition, ALSTOM also presented
its metro references, ranging from rolling stock to signalisation
as well as maintenance and turnkey projects, such as the Pearl
and XinMin Lines in Shanghai, Nanjing, Hong Kong and
Singapore.
In parallel, ALSTOM was present with a speaker at the
International Metropolitan Railways Conference (November 17-20).
Naor Wallach, Systems Director for CBTC, was invited by UTIP to
make a joint presentation with representatives from Siemens and
Alcatel on the subject 'Modernization of New York Metro System:
the Canarsie Line Project.'
