The other partners in the consortium are John
Holland-Leighton, which is responsible for track laying, civil
works and some signalling installation, and Adhhi Karya, which
will carry out some civil works.

For the contract, now in force, ALSTOM’s ATLAS™
signaling and communication system will be installed in eight
stations. Commissioning is scheduled for December 2004 with
revenue service beginning exactly one year later.

ALSTOM (as the former GTM) supplied the Indonesia’s
railway regulator and infrastructure owner with its earlier
system and the customer’s satisfaction with that system was
a leading factor in the current choice.

With more than 35 product lines and a presence in over 60
countries, ALSTOM's Transport Sector offers cutting-edge products
and services to four distinct types of customers: urban transit
authorities and operators; intercity passenger rail operators and
rolling stock owners; rail freight operators; and intercity
railway infrastructure owners. ALSTOM's Transport Sector, with
4.4 billion euros in sales in 2001, is among the world's leading
suppliers to the railway industry.
