A major objective of this partnership is to win business in
Indias supercritical programme, aimed at helping India
to efficiently fulfil its requirements in power generation.

The partnership agreement is constituted by a Technical
Assistance Agreement (licence) including all once-through
boiler designs and associated high performance pulverisers and
a Business Co-operation Agreement defining the industrial scope
of each of the partners for future boilers to be ordered.
ALSTOM will supply engineering and the key components of the
boilers, bringing work to its facilities in the USA, Germany
and India.

The agreement was signed by ALSTOM Chairman and CEO Patrick
Kron and Mr. A.K. Puri, Chairman and Managing Director of BHEL,
at an official ceremony held in New Delhi, India.

Patrick Kron said We are very proud that BHEL has
decided to go into partnership with ALSTOM for this class of
boilers, which will establish a new world reference in terms of
efficiency. The deal is a major step in our development in
India and confirms our status as the leading player in clean
combustion technology. We are committed to making this
partnership a success for the benefit of people in
India.
