ALSTOM signs strategic partnership in Russia with EMAlliance

Under the deal, the companies will share technology and
know-how as well as marketing/business development, bidding and
contract execution for thermal power plant projects in Russia
and the CIS. The deal is seen as the first step in negotiations
for several business co-operation agreements.

The partners have already concluded the first of these, a
Memorandum of Understanding on Circulating Fluidised Bed (CFB)
boilers, an efficient clean-coal combustion technology that is
increasingly demanded in Russia. ALSTOM is one of the
worlds leading suppliers of CFBs.

EMAlliance is the management company of JSC Machine-Building
Plant ZIO-Podolsk, JSC Engineering Company ZIOMAR and JSC TKZ
Krasny Kotelshchik, three major Russian companies with
international experience and references in the design and
manufacture of thermal power plant. EMAlliance is based at
Podolsk in the Moscow region.

Philippe Joubert, President of ALSTOMs Power
Turbo-Systems / Power Environment Sector, said: The

power company as EMAlliance will help ALSTOM to bring new
technologies to the rapidly growing market of Russia and other
CIS countries. The partnership will aid ALSTOM to rapidly
expand business in this region and we envisage further
co-operation on equipment supplies from EMAlliance to ALSTOM
projects world-wide.
