ALSTOM Power Sweden AB wins an order on a new generator for
the Olkiluoto 2 unit in Finland

Generator replacement is a part of the long term life cycle
management of the plant unit. With the purchase of the new
generator, TVO aims at ensuring reliable electrical generation
also in the future.  

- The new generator is water-cooled and of the same technology
as the generator now in operation at OL2.  The present
generator was installed in 1994 and its operational experiences
are good. In addition, the nominal capacity of the new generator
is bigger and its efficiency somewhat higher than the one of the
present generator, tells Mr Bengt Assarsson, President, Alstom
Power Sweden AB.

The Power Service division in Alstom Power Sweden AB is
responsible for the complete delivery and the turn-key delivery
includes the generator itself, modernization of the auxiliaries,
engineering and installation. The total value of the generator
renewal is about EUR20 million.
