Alstom Transport's François Lacôte
(SVP, Technical) and Georges Palais (Project manager, Technical)
have been jointly elected Engineer of the Year by
the French magazines Usine Nouvelle and
Industrie & Technologie. This highly recognized
prize in the French engineering community awards the achievements
of François Lacôte and Georges Palais in the management
of the design, manufacturing, testing and final successful ride
of the V150 trainset which broke the world speed record, at 574,8
km/h on 3 April 2007. While receiving their award in a ceremony
in Paris on 13 December, they acknowledged their teams
dedication and skills in the record achievement.
