Alstom to construct fourth consecutive combined-cycle power plant for Hc Energia in Spain

An Alstom-led consortium received a full notice to proceed (NTP) on a
turnkey contract by Hc Energia*, for the construction of a 400 MW
combined cycle power station in Soto de Ribera, Spain.

The turnkey contract had been awarded in August 2008 and includes a long-term operation and maintenance contract. The total value of both contracts is 340 million euros and will be booked during the third quarter of fiscal year 2008/09.

Under the terms of the contract, Alstom will supply a fully integrated turnkey power plant, comprising of one KA26-1 single shaft power train, integrating in-house core plant components: one GT26 gas turbine, one heat recovery steam generator, one STF15c steam turbine and one TOPGAS turbogenerator.

The new power plant represents the eighth GT26 power station constructed by Alstom in Spain and the fourth with Hc Energia following Castejon 1&2 and Soto 4, signed in 2000, 2005 and 2006. The Alstom GT26 combined-cycle power plant fleet in Spain totals 4800 MW with this contract, including 4000 MW already in operation and 400 MW in construction.
