Alstom began this extension in 2007, carrying out
preliminary studies and subsequent electrification work
(overhead contact lines) and - a first with the RATP (the
Parisian public transport operator) - preliminary studies, then
the installation and commissioning of the tramway signalling
system (signals, points, track circuits and supervision system
for the section). Alstom also supplied the tramsets of the
line. 16 Citadis tramsets have now been added to provide for
this extension, bringing the total number of Citadis in
operation to 42.

The RATP is expecting passenger traffic on the line to
increase by up to one third, ie 44,000 passengers.
