The advanced technology of the new Alstom interlocking will
allow RFI to control railway traffic in complete safety for
passengers, along this 42 km line, managing 2 stations, 3 stops
and 34 sections of integrated line block. This new architecture
is optimised to control centrally a complete line with multiple
stations from a single interlocking system. Alstoms
Smartlock solution will guarantee passengers increased safety
and punctuality.

The project will be lead by Alstom Transport teams based in
Bologna and Verona. With over 2.800 employees, Alstom Transport
is a key player on the Italian rail transport market. The
company has recently installed the new interlocking of Bologne
Centrale and equipped Bologna-Florence high speed line with
ERTMS level 2 solutions.
