DB Schenker Rail, Mitteldeutsche Eisenbahngesellschaft (MEG) and Alstom agree on long-term tests of Alstoms hybrid shunting locomotives.
The prototype shown has again been subjected to endurance tests from July 2010 and will be supplemented by four additional locomotives by the end of 2011, which will then be intensively tested together until June 2018. MEG, a subsidiary of DB Schenker Rail, will rent these five locomotives from Alstom, with the option of a later purchase.
