The 11 other trainsets, also manufactured at
Alstom’s facility in Lapa (Brazil), are
currently being delivered and undergo their
final tests.
These new trains are outfitted with a signalling system for
automatic train operation (ATO). Alstom will also install this
system in the fleet of 20 trainsets that were already in use,
as well as along the entire length of the network (47 km) and
at the 29 stations.
Thanks to the new trains and this signalling system,
Brasília’s two lines capacity will double to carry
more than 300,000 people daily and the frequency between two
trains will be 3 minutes instead of the current 4.5 minutes.
