Alstom and TMH have registered RailComp JV to localize the production of highly competitive products for traction systems delivery for electric locomotives in Russia and Kazakhstan.
The main target of the project is to locally produce traction drive components for EP20, 2ES5, KZ4AT and KZ8A.
The project will enable the partners to combine Alstoms expertise and cutting-edge technology with TMHs production sites and experience in producing components for severe climates, and create opportunities to establish a network of local suppliers and to create export potential for traction converter equipment produced in Russia, as well as to supply products to Alstom enterprises in the frame of the MCA.
The JV is equally owned by TMH and Alstom 50% / 50%. The first production is expected for 2013.
