Alstom Experts Weigh-in During U.S. Conference on CCS Technology

A team of Alstom carbon capture technology experts last week joined 600 global power industry colleagues in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to discuss technical and policy paths forward for advancing Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) during the 11th Annual CCUS conference.  The ‘U’ in CCUS stands for Utilization – a new focus for the U.S. Department of Energy’s Fossil Energy Program.

Alstom partnered with the conference organizers to support the program agenda, which featured broad participation by CCUS research organizations, universities and government, in addition to private companies. Throughout the three day event, Alstom’s team contributed to the conference dialogue with technical and operational progress reports on CO2 capture technology that included:

Bob Hilton, Alstom’s VP of Power Technology for U.S. Government Affairs, moderated a Plenary session on Global Experience with Large Scale CCS Demonstrations, which included presentations by Gassnova on the Mongstad CCS technology demonstration facility in Norway.

Earlier today, Alstom announced the inauguration of the Mongstad carbon capture test facility - the largest of its kind in the world.
