Alstom signed a contract for Gas Insulated Switchgear SF6 (GIS) worth around 30 million PLN

On 30 April 2012 Alstom Grid in Poland announced the signing of the contract with KGHM Polska Mied S.A. for supply of Gas Insulated Switchgear SF6 (GIS). The scope of the covers: design documentation and construction of GIS switchgear; building, delivery, installation and commissioning of 110 kV gas-insulated switchgear (GIS); delivery, installation and commissioning of protection relays and digital control system; supply of AC/DC auxiliary switchboards; energy measurement system; capacitor banks and HV cable connections.
The new GIS station will help to increase power system reliability and significantly reduce maintenance work.
Project completion is planned for August 2013.
