Alstom to provide parts, services and upgrades for CS Energy power stations in Queensland, Australia

Alstom has signed a frame service agreement with CS Energy, a State-owned power generating company in Queensland, Australia to provide parts, services and upgrades for their five coal-fired generation units and two hydro powered units in the State. The frame agreement is valid for five years and will include Alstom and one other service provider bidding for maintenance work at these plants. The total agreement, if all work proceeds as scheduled, is valued at approximately 120 million and will be booked through separate orders over the contract term.

The agreement covers major equipment installed at the coal-fired units at the Callide Power Station (2 x 350 MW and 2 x 405 MW), the coal-fired Kogan Creek Power Station (1 x 750 MW) and the hydro pumped storage units (2 x 250 MW) at the Wivenhoe Power Station. This includes boilers, coal feeders, coal mills, fans, burners, air heaters, fabric filters, precipitators, steam turbines, steam valves, generators, electrical equipment, hydro turbines, hydro valves and hydro generators.

Success on this five-year frame agreement will enable the establishment of a strong Alstom service presence in Queensland. This will be a key reference for us and is in line with our drive to grow our service business with other coalfired generators in Queensland, and new capital plant opportunities in the State, said Hans-Peter Meer, Senior Vice President of Alstom Thermal Services.

Alstoms breadth of technology across the plant at both Callide and Kogan Creek power station and its proven competence on hydro assets, have been essential factors considered by CS Energy in awarding this frame agreement. Alstom has also previously provided services to Intergen Millmerran in Queensland.
