Växjö Energi choose Alstoms flue gas cleaning system for their new combined power and heat plant boiler

Växjö Energi is expanding their heat production by building a new combined heat and power plant (CHP plant) which uses biomass fuel. The new CHP plant will be one of the most modern in Europe and it ensures that biomass fuel will continue to be a heat source to the population of Växjö. The fuel is collected within a 100km radius of Växjö therefore ensuring that this heating method is environmentally friendly. Växjö will be able to cease the use of all types of oil-fired heating with the new CHP plant this is a goal for Europes greenest city. During a period of high competition, Alstoms centre for environmental control systems in Växjö has received orders to deliver a filter facility to the CHP plant which has a thermal effect of circa 100MW. The facility will be erected in the Sandvik area of Växjö, where Växjö Energi already has operations. Deployment of the new facility is estimated for 2015.
