Alstom, through its unit located in Taubaté, dedicated to the production of equipment for power generation, offers Formare, a job training program for low-income youth in the city. This week was held the graduation of the fifth class, which includes the presence of 20 students, aged between 16 and 17 years.

Students receive the formation of Metallurgical and Industrial Production Operator, having remained in the company from April 2012 to March 2013, receiving lessons from Alstom employees. A new class of the course, with 20 students, will start classes this week, and also remain in the company for a year.

Since 2008, the project has trained more than 70 young high school students. Classes are taught by a volunteer program which includes practical and theoretical activities. Students receive a technical certificate recognized by the MEC (Ministry of Education and Culture) and may exercise their functions in Alstom or other industries.

Formare is a project of the Foundation Iochpe that, from partnerships with large and medium companies, provides professional education courses for young people aged 16-18 years. The courses provide the opportunity for initial training for the market.
