Atomexpo, St.Petersbourg, Russia, June 2628, 2013, Mikhailovsky Manezh
AtomExpo is a three-day forum comprising international nuclear energy congress and exhibition. This event organized by the Russian State Nuclear Corporation (Rosatom) is currently the major international exhibition and business ground of the Russian nuclear industry, enterprises and related industries.
Alstom-Atomenergomash, a strong local partnership and local presence
Alstom is taking part in the Atomexpo Exhibition with its Russian subsidiary Alstom-Atomenergomash (AAEM).
ALSTOM-Atomenergomash Joint venture was set up in 2007 by Atomenergomash JSC and global leader in nuclear engineering Alstom Power Holding SA to complete NPP turbine islands with equipment based on the ARABELLE low-speed technology developed by Alstom. Core activities of the JV: manufacture of low-speed steam turbines and generators with a capacity of 1,200-1,800 mW, steam separators and condensers based on the ARABELLE low-speed technology, engineering services and equipment of NPP turbine islands using the ARABELLE low-speed technology.
At the beginning of 2012, Alstom-Atomenergomash signed an agreement with the Russian Atomic State Corporation Rosatom to supply turbine island equipment for units 1 and 2 of the Baltic nuclear power plant in Kaliningrad region, which are to be commissioned in 2016 and 2018 respectively.
On 20th December 2013 the Board of Directors of Alstom-Atomenergomash defined the manufacturing site which will produce equipment and components for the Turbine Island in Russia, based on the Arabelle technology. After a thorough screening of options, the Board of Directors decided to retain the Volgodonsk site (Rostov oblast), a branch of AEM-tekhnologii CJSC (Atomenergomash), based on its exceptional infrastructural capabilities.
At the Atomexpo exhibition AAEM is halving 28 sqm of the exhibition space where the Alstom's ARABELLETM turbine model is the key exhibit.
