This year Phlilippe Pegorier, President of Alstom in Russia, Ukraine and Belorussia and Andrey Lavrinenko, Head of Alstom Global Power Sales for Russia, CIS and Georgia will visit the XII International Investment Forum in Sochi, to present our company at one of the most important events of the economic and political life in Russia.
For Alstom, Sochi economic forum is an exceptional opportunity for an open discussion with the investment community and authorities, a creative space for thinking of the new promising projects, important for the development of the regions. With the construction of a power turbine factory in Ufa, running production of locomotives in the Rostov region, as well as emerging projects in the regions, Alstom is proud to contribute to the important mission of giving a second wind to the regional economies.
Commenting on the Forum, Philippe Pegorier said: "With regards to investments, this year one of the most important topics is going to be transport development. Alstom Transport is highly committed in supporting with its strategic partner Transmashholding the modernization of the Transport Landscape of Russia. With regard to the priority project of the Very High Speed pilot line Moscow Kazan let us refer to the more than 30 years of experience of the TGV operations in France. Since 1981 the network is increasing and more than 850 TGVs are operating daily in France and neighboring countries. The positive socio economic effect of this project was reconfirmed this month in the reindustrialization program for France presented by President Francois Holland in which the development of a new TGV is one of 34 key initiatives to strengthen the French economy. This also demonstrates that developing the Russian Very High Speed Rail Network will be a profitable investment into the Russian economy."
Andrey Lavrinenko mentioned that "Alstom success in the power industry is based on the international experience, which have outlined our strategy focused on the development and implementation of state-of-the-art technologies and innovative solutions. These solutions ensure cost-saving usage of natural resources like fossil fuels - coal, gas, oil, etc., and renewable resources, including hydro, wind, sun, geothermal and biomass technologies. We are happy to cooperate with the Russian partners, considering the investment into localization and development of the production in Russia, and I'm sure that Sochi is a valuable place to stop on the way to the future."
