Renewal and improved reliability of fhe GTT fleet: 3 new regional trains for the SFM1 line (Rivarolo-Chieri)

The Metropolitan Railway Service (SFM) has been enhanced with three new regional trains "Coradia Meridian" for GTT, produced by Alstom, which from today enter into service on the line SFM1 Rivarolo-Chieri. The new trains renew and strengthen the SFM1 line, in addition to the 19 Minuetto trains in commercial service from 2006.
The "Coradia Meridian" trains, manufactured in the Alstom site in Savigliano (CN), are made up by four articulated cars and they can transport up to 400 passengers (188 seats + 1 for wheelchair). The purchase of the trains has been entirely funded by Piedmonte Region, with an investment of around 16 million.
