The Secretary of the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) has appointed Dr. Lawrence Jones, Vice President, Utility Innovations & Infrastructure Resilience at Alstom Grid, to Departments Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Advisory Committee (REEEAC). In this role Dr. Jones will represent Alstom and smart grid technology companies while working with committee members to provide recommendations and advice on the development and implementation of programs and policies to improve the competiveness of the U.S. renewable energy and energy efficiency sectors. The program is part the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Export Initiative and the National Export Initiative (NEI/NEXT).

I am honored to be selected for this committee and look forward to working to help the U.S. become the leader in energy technology development, said Dr. Jones. Through support from the DOC and others we can advance smart grid and energy transmission and distribution technologies that are essential for integrating renewables and enabling energy competitiveness.

Alstom has several smart grid and large scale energy transmission and distribution projects underway around the world. As one of Alstoms key smart grid experts Dr. Jones will bring a great deal of knowledge and expertise to the committee.
