Alstom provides 400 kV gas-insulated substation for Zetes-3 thermal power plant, in Turkey

Alstom has been awarded a contract of around €10 million, by Eren Enerji Endustrisi A.S. to provide the substation connecting the Zetes-3 thermal power plant (2x700 MW) to the Turkish transmission network. Within the turnkey scope of the contract, Alstom will carry out all engineering, supply, construction and commissioning works of the 400 kV gas-insulated substation. This thermal power plant is the third one of Eren Enerji, the largest project signed in the field of Turkish energy in recent years.
Eren Enerji already operates Zestes-1 (160 MW), and Zetes-2 power plants. In 2010, Alstom had already supplied with full turnkey scope the 400 kV gas-insulated substation for Zetes-2 power plant which is one of the most efficient in the country, with 2x615 MW power.

Alstom started its Grid activities in Turkey in 1966, supplied more than 50 per cent of the high-voltage products and turnkey systems to Turkish Transmission System Operator. The company,, with one of the largest power transformer factories in the world - situated in Gebze,Turkey -, is an export champion in its field and employs approximately 1100 people. Since 2011, The managing centre of Alstom Grid South Europe and Central Asia Region is implanted in Turkey, and covers 26 countries ranging from Portugal to Kyrgyzstan.
