October 14, 2019 – Alstom was awarded a approximately 700,000 euro contract with Metro de Santiago for the engineering, supply and equipping of spaces reserved for people with reduced mobility on 117 Alstom trains running on lines 1, 2, 4, 4A and 5 of the metropolitan train.

Alstom will be responsible for implementing these spaces, which will be located in the first car of each train, and which were designed according to the provisions of the standard on Equal Opportunities and Social Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in public passenger transport of the Ministry of Social Development. The works will begin in March next year and they include the removal of railings and seats on trains NS-93, AS-02 and NS04 of Alstom, in addition to the incorporation of handrails and signage in windows, floors and exterior of each car.

"With these works we will be contributing so that Metro de Santiago can have a more inclusive and accessible network for people with reduced mobility according to the values we promote", said Denis Girault, Managing Director of Alstom in Chile..
