26 April 2024 – Alstom, global leader in smart and sustainable mobility, announces the appointment of its North America Services Vice President, Josée Ouellet, as Grand Ambassador of the Université de Sherbrooke in Quebec, Canada. This major recognition from an important Quebec institution, and the first nomination of a woman engineer to this title, is a testament to Ms. Ouellet’s exceptional career and outstanding contribution to society.

Josée Ouellet has led Alstom’s operations and maintenance activities in North America since 2021. The nearly 4,000 employees in her business unit are singularly focused on providing a safe, reliable, and quality service to passengers. Alstom is the number one private rail operator in North America, moving over one hundred million passengers every year on rail public transit and through North America’s busiest airports.
After graduating from the Université de Sherbrooke in mechanical engineering, Josée Ouellet has spent most of her career with Alstom, where she has held management positions in Malaysia, Australia, Europe, and Canada. She is a beloved and respected leader, both for her human qualities and the positive and inspiring influence she brings to women in the railway industry and in the Quebec community, including mentoring multiple individuals within and outside the industry.
