ALSTOM awarded a 110 million euros O&M contract for a
gas-fired combined cycle power plant in Malaysia

ALSTOM has won a 10 year operation and maintenance contract
for a gas-fired combined cycle power plant in the state of
Perlis, Malaysia. The contract, with an approximate value of
110 million Euro, was placed by Global E-Technic Sdn. Bhd., a
company owned by the independent power producer Teknologi
Tenaga Perlis Consortium Sdn. Bhd.

Under the terms of the contract, ALSTOM will provide both
operation and maintenance support for the three gas turbines,
the power plant control system and balance of plant. The
contract also includes technical and managerial support
services, by which ALSTOM will provide expert personnel on
site, comprising two engineers throughout the whole 10-year
contract period and additional managerial trainers during the
first six years of the contract period.

As previously mentioned, the turnkey 675 MW KA13E2 power
plant was ordered from ALSTOM in August this year for an amount
exceeding 330 million euros. This power plant is scheduled to
enter commercial operation in spring 2003.

The power produced will be supplied to the national grid
under a 21-year Power Purchase Agreement with Tenaga Nasional
Berhad,
